Use your brain to help your body

Thinking good thoughts leads to better health
A Special Health Report from the experts at Harvard Medical School
Being a psychology graduate, I’m excited to see this report from Harvard. I believe that happy, more positive thoughts truly elevate our internal systems and ward off potential ailments. I would like to read a good study with a big sampling that would support this idea. But in the interim, even with elders, we find that the happier personality, people who are involved, participate, and give to others feel better and have longer lives. Proof, give me awhile and I’m still researching that. But I’m happy thinking this. The report follows. More will find their way here.
“Positive emotions have been linked with better health, longer life and greater well being in numerous scientific studies. On the other hand, chronic anger, worry, and hostility increase the risk of developing high blood pressure and heart disease. A Harvard School of Public Health survey found that people who are generally hopeful were less likely to develop hypertension, diabetes or respiratory tract infections than those who were less hopeful or expressed more negative emotion. The concepts of positive psychology can have a favorable impact not only on the psyche, but on the body as well.”
