Holiday Eating Success

Holiday Eating, Youthing and Feeling Great!
Years ago I was a NutriSystem consultant. I vividly remember the holidays soon to be upon us and the anxiety of losing weight before they started so when the holiday parties began there was some room on the belt buckle that could be released. But then it was holiday time and what to eat at the buffets and dinner parties became most important in everyone’s mind.
Well I’m a believer that we don’t have to deny ourselves or be depressed about what to eat. I truly doubt that unless you go to health restaurants there is going to be lots of tasty treats filled with calories, carbs, and fats.(and not the good ones either!). But life is about youthing and feeling good and happy and so what’s it all about?
OUR CHOICES
First of all, try drinking a couple of glasses of water before you leave home. This fills you up and you don’t start out being famished. (I do this before I go food shopping each week)
When you get to the party just look at the entire buffet table before you are ready to place food on the plate. If there’s a big selection, take one of each of the items you like. Minizing the amount of your selection is the key here. If there’s veggies or salad take more of this than the fatty stuff. Definitely a problem you will feel when you go back home and wished you ate more moderately so you don’t feel so overloaded with indigestion. Like drinking too much it doesn’t feel good or make for a happy time.
It’s a party and it’s about the people around you. It’s not about having to eat the food. You are just being social. I always ask myself-how many pleasures do I need at the same time? Have fun thinking about it!
