Bialy and Sardines

bialies for youSunday breakfast - Healthy and Delicious

Well I will be sitting down to a great Sunday breakfast today - Bialys, cream cheese, onions and Sardines. I have loved Sardines for years and remember reading about adventurers and explorers eating Sardines (before the modern age of freeze dried food and MRE's) as a major food source for energy, protein and oil. For example read The Quest of the Snow Leopard by Roy Chapman Andrews and River of Doubt by Candice Millard (both great adventure tales and both packed a lot of sardines). I also read about rock climbers that pack sardines and water as their food for a 3 day climb. Sardines deliver their impact on a weight and size comparison scale to other energy sources - and they make a great Sunday breakfast.

Well modern research continues to support the value of sardines (packed in fish oil) - read about recent research in Science News.
